Southern California is beautiful. Even at this time of economic uncertainty and transition, the neighborhood is an abundant source of inspiration. The dramatic ‘Foreclosure,’ ‘Bank Owned,’ and ‘Sale’ signs stand solemn in perfectly manicured and trimmed yards, in front of ghostly empty houses. This American dream has become a nightmare for some. The vacation weather, the quintessential California palm tree, the perfectly cleaned street seam out of place in such sad scenario. Though change is good, the organic urban web still regenerates and thrives. Here is another digital ‘impression’ of my neighborhood. J Frizza

The Monkey C Media Gallery was a busy place this past first weekend of October. For the South Park Autumn WalkAbout, MCM opened a new show titled “People of South Park”. Chad Thompson, photographer and co-owner, presented a series of photographic portraits of people from around the neighborhood. The show was a huge success. More than 500 people cruised by, enjoying the live music, wine and cupcakes. A whole community brought together by art … Remarkable! JF
